CHARLES A. DOMBEK, CPA, MBA – FOUNDING PARTNER
Charlie Dombek is a nationally recognized CPA and is one of the foremost authorities on tax planning and mitigation. His clients include professional athletes, entertainers, healthcare professionals, internet marketers, and other successful closely held business owners. Unlike most CPAs who focus on compliance issues and have a historical emphasis, Charlie is best known for the tax savings he is able to achieve for his clients through constant planning, coaching, and ongoing guidance. Charlie began his career in the late ’80s at Big Four national accounting firm Ernst and Young. He holds an MBA from the College of William and Mary, along with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Virginia Tech. He is a highly recognized author and a regular speaker at financial and investment workshops throughout the country.
Jamie Finnen-Gratzer, E.A. – Managing Partner
Jamie Finnen-Gratzer is the managing partner of Optimal Financial Group. She began her career with the firm in 2009, joining in 2013 as an associate. Jamie is a sought after speaker at financial and real estate investment workshops throughout the United States. Her clients range from real estate investors, doctors, lawyers, construction contractors, internet marketers, and multi-million dollar companies.
Jamie received a Graduate Certificate in Accounting in 2005 and her Master of Accounting and Financial Management in 2006. Jamie has been in the accounting field for over a decade, spending most of her professional career in public accounting. A graduate of Old Dominion University in 2002, she has been an associate with the firm, concentrating her practice in the areas of tax preparation and real estate strategies. Jamie has been preparing returns for over 400 clients and manages the professional staff within The Optimal Financial Group organization.
She is an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service, a certified Quickbooks Pro Advisor, certified in QuickBooks Financial Software, and a National Registered Tax Preparer.
Jamie is married with four children who are actively involved in baseball and wrestling.
Ashley Brown – Operations Manager
Ashley Brown joined the Optimal Financial Group in July 2018 as an Operations Manager. Ashley has several years of experience in Office Administration/Management, with 16 years in the medical field. She has worked as an Office Manager for a Podiatric Practice in Poughkeepsie, NY, and as an HIM Coordinator in Stamford, CT, and Marketing Representative for an Imaging company in The Woodlands, TX.
Ashley is a loving mom and enjoys spending family with her family.
Alicia Fuentez – Tax Manager
Alicia Fuentez is an Enrolled Agent and a Tax Manager at the Optimal Financial Group. Alicia’s background brings a diversity of experience to the firm. She has a passion for helping real estate investors, small business owners and individuals manage and grow their financial well-being. With a strong accounting and tax background Alicia will provide her clients with peace of mind and knowledgeable advice.
Alicia earned her Master of Science degree in Accounting in December of 2017 from Sam Houston State University. She also graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelors of Science in Accounting in 2013. Her tax and financial knowledge stems from her education as well as working with other CPA firms in Wisconsin and Texas as a Tax Accountant and Staff Accountant. Her knowledge and consideration for her clients does allow her to better adhere to her client’s needs.
Alicia’s skill set ranges from bookkeeping, preparing financial reports, researching tax questions, assisting with IRS notices, and tax preparation. Alicia knows the importance of each client and will strive to fulfill all their business and personal needs.
When she is not studying or working she loves to spend her free time with her husband, daughter and dogs.
DONNA DAVID - Bookkeeping Manager
Prior to coming to Optimal in 2014, Donna David worked for fourteen years at several CPA firms and owned her own bookkeeping businesses for five years. She has worked with hundreds of small businesses assisting with their bookkeeping and tax preparation needs. Donna’s education includes an associate’s degree from Victoria College and 54 hours towards an accounting degree at Sam Houston State University. She has been an Advanced Quickbooks ProAdvisor since 2011.
Amy Smith – Senior Tax Preparer
Amy Smith joined The Optimal Financial Group in February 2012. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting, from Longwood College, graduating in 1992.
With over 20 years of public accounting experience, Amy has specialized in estate and trust tax returns, financial statement preparation, and tax return preparation for corporations, partnerships, and individuals. She cares deeply about her clients’ success and takes the time to learn about their unique situation to ensure is doing the best job possible for them.
Amy has a daughter in college and a teenage son.
Jayde S. Landry – Tax Preparer
As a Tax Preparer for The Optimal Financial Group, Jayde brings an array of experience, along with a healthy enthusiasm for her work and dedication to her clients.
Jayde is a graduate of The University of Louisiana, where she received her Bachelor’s degrees in both Accounting and Finance. Graduating in the fall of 2011, she accepted a position with one of the top CPA firms in Louisiana. There she gained invaluable knowledge as an Auditor and Tax Preparer working closely with a diverse clientele.
In 2013, Jayde and her husband relocated to Houston, where they now reside with their two children. The relocation led to an opportunity for Jayde to apply her experience by helping to expand her husband’s multi-faceted service company.
Throughout her career, Jayde has worked with construction, governmental, legal, medical, and retail practices. Her passion for helping people improve their financial situations has led her to personal financial consulting and real estate accounting.
Nicole Rice – Tax Preparer
Nicole joined Optimal Financial Group in September 2019.Nicole graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and in Banking. After spending some time as a stay-at-home mom, her accounting & finance positions include the Hospitality, Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Not-for-Profit industries. After managing the H&R Block in Magnolia, Texas for 2 years, where she prepared taxes as an AFSP Tax Preparer, she joined TaxPro Services in December 2018.
Nicole enjoys helping her clients find their best possible tax situation, understanding that each client is as individual as a snowflake. She enjoys spending time with her daughter & dog, reading and crafting.
Tony Henning – Tax Preparer
Mr. Anthony Henning received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1996 from Ferris State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Anthony has been in the accounting field for over 24 years, spending most of his professional career in public accounting as a licensed CPA in the State of Michigan performing governmental audits, business accounting & consulting and tax return preparation.
Anthony and his wife moved to Texas last summer to be closer to their family and grandchildren. After a short retirement, Anthony wanted to get back to work doing what he loves and found himself doing accounting work and tax preparation as a member of our staff here at The Optimal Financial Group
Tommie Bouck– Tax Preparer
Tommie Bouck is a tax preparer/bookkeeper with The Optimal Financial Group. She believes in helping individuals as they grow their businesses through accounting related expertise. Tommie has worked as a staff accountant in a small Texas CPA firm helping clients navigate tax season in all walks of life. She has also dedicated time to an Orthotics and Prosthetics Clinical and Manufacturing company that specialized in Pediatrics in South Bend, Indiana.
She still resides in Northern Indiana where she gets all four seasons most days. Tommie holds a Master’s of Science in Accounting from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX.
Jennifer Carter – Bookkeeper
Jennifer Carter is a bookkeeper with the Optimal Financial Group. She has 17 years of experience as a bookkeeper which includes backgrounds in construction, healthcare, and marketing. She has worked as a bookkeeper in a small Houston area CPA firm for years from which she learned how to navigate all the ins and outs of the business bookkeeping world. She plans to use these skills to help her clients in every way possible. She strives to make sure every client is taken care of with the personal attention they deserve.
Jennifer Smith – Payroll Specialist
Jennifer joined The Optimal Financial Group team in November 2018. She has been in the financial field for more than 20 years and holds an AA in Accounting from Pierce College. She is happily married to her husband for 25 years, with 16 of those as an Army spouse living and working in multiple states as well as overseas. This has given her exposure to a wide variety of companies and state regulations to become a well-rounded Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist.
Jennifer is an active volunteer with the Humane Society, Army Volunteer Corps, and her Jeep club. She spends her downtime remodeling her new home, teaching her dog not to bark at the wind, and making sure she stays connected with her three grown sons. Her current professional goal is to pass the Certified Payroll Professional exam in June 2020, and her current personal goal is the complete her Garden Design Certification program with the Lewis Ginter Botanical Society.
